I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much I enjoyed the DVD. It was great to see how a RAW family can survive and thrive. Your whole family is an inspiration. I also wanted to thank you for the drawing done by Storm. It is truly beautiful and being displayed in my living room.
Thank you again for all you do,
Dori Lewis
Hi Jinjee,
I just had to write back and tell you how much I LOVED your documentary "Breakthrough". I really needed to see that to help me get back on the raw food wagon. My family is not on the same page as I am with all this and your family inspires me so much!
THANK YOU! and tell the rest of your family THANK YOU too from a Raw Foodist in Kansas.
Love,
Angie

A homeschooling mom of two, Jennifer is an admitted Web junkie who lives life online.
Sometimes I make myself laugh. While I've been ranting and raving about Madonna trying to adopt a little boy from Malawi, North Korea is plotting to blow up the world. Priorities, Jennifer. Priorities!
Right now my oldest daughter is watching CNN. I have her watch some of the news and write down every place name she hears. Then she goes and finds all the places on her world map. Don't you hate when adults don't know basic geography? I do and have vowed that my kids will not be geo-dummies.
While it seems the world is in chaos (who else thinks elevating John Mark Karr to veritable celebrity status is just loony?), I know I have to get myself together health wise, otherwise I'll drive myself crazy being mixed up in news fodder. That's why I'm so excited my friend, Penny (right), had TheGardenDiet.com send me a review copy of their documentary, Breakthrough. Breakthrough is all about a California raw vegan family, and if you've ever thought about going raw or doing a raw cleanse this is some of the best inspiration around.
This beautiful family of six lives in the California mountains and have immersed themselves in a holistic life full of bountiful fruits and vegetables, organic gardening, homeschooling and basically living the "good life". I love how healthy and carefree the children look and how the entire family is thriving in an all-natural lifestyle. The children are allowed to develop their imaginations to the fullest and are constantly encouraged to explore their world, whether it's watching a deer a mere three feet away or racing to the top of hills.
The greatest aspect of the entire documentary is when the family shot footage of a routine visit to the pediatrician. All of the four children were given clean bills of health and while some of the children were a little small for their age it wasn't indicative of anything abnormal. In fact, I love how the parents handled the entire situation about their children's weight and height because so many parents and doctors get all bent out of shape if a child is not where they're supposed to be on the chart. Both of our daughters have always been small and people like to give us grief about their size, but they're just small. Get over it!
While I know I probably couldn't be 100% raw -- probably about 70% -- I do know I want to immerse myself in the lifestyle. Yesterday I went out and loaded our refrigerator with vegetables and fruits of all kinds. I bought nuts, seeds and tofu and I even bought some couscous. I think couscous qualifies. It's safe to say that I have a lot more knowledge to acquire. The good thing is I'm starting. YEAH!

Dear Jinjee,
I never knew about eating raw before. I found out about you because I was on the Central Coast, and picked up a copy of Hope Dance, where I saw an ad for your movie. I realized how blindly immersed we are in our culture, with it's paradigms about food and medical doctors, that is more about profits.
But the basic point is that bodies heal themselves, given the optimal conditions.
I saw "Breakthrough" and loved it. Your children are adorable. I especially loved your visit to the clinic! That was hilarious.
My husband is an agricultural geneticist and I have a degree in economics. We have eight grown children and I seldom worked outside of our home. If I could do it over again I would raise my kids how you do. Very inspiring. The crazy thing is, my husband is eating mostly raw now, too.
Thanks,
Saundra
Jinjee-
I just wanted to let you know that I received our copy of breakthrough. We absolutely loved it! You are living our dream...simplicity! We are also homeschoolers who allow our children the freedom to truly learn. What a gift! Thanks so much for mailing out the DVD.
Oh! Quick thanks to you and Storm. My husband and I have three children...15,13,11. As a family we have lost 140 lbs so far! Thanks for your time and effort you put forth with the garden diet!
Peace and Blessings,
Darla Tarr
