True Stories from Participants in our Go Raw Programs!

(The 21 Day Cleanse, The 28 Day Raw Transition Program and The Raw Empowerment Program)

On this page I share with you some feedback that my Raw Program participants have emailed to me over the years, as well as some things they have posted on the Raw Programs' exclusive private Forums in their blogs.

In this new section just below I've included posts that include challenges they had as well as successes. My hope is that these will show you that you don't have to be perfect all the time to get results….Also, this shows you how honest people are on the programs' forums!

Have really enjoyed my first week and am all stocked up for this second week.  Not gonna weigh myself yet as the goal of this for me is making this a part of a new lifestyle. It's changing my thoughts about food using food to nourish the body not keeping emotions down.  Lots of emotions have been coming up so I journal them and work, the main place I consume tons of unnecessary calories and food have been challenging.  Not easy, but I choose to continue and move forward.  Being stuck is no longer an option. Here's to week 2.
- Irene

So day 2 done. Haven't been able to really workout, in part due to a shoulder injury and in part I have been exhausted. Took a long nap today. Must be my body reacting to good nutrition for the first time in a while. I am surprised I have not been hungry and really no cravings at this point. Now just about to journal about the topic for today. Hope this momentum stays.
- Alice

Green smoothie this morning and veggie wraps for lunch.  Cup of steamed veggies and 1/2 cup of pineapple, that's it.  Did some walking during lunch away from office, wow felt great! I'm realizing the less cooked food you eat the better you feel!  Love it and will stay on track
- Olivia

Well it took me a little while to get in the groove, I sort of missed the first week, just did my own gradual cleaning up of diet. And then I've been in the mix full-on for week two, which has been great.
Today I discovered the straight water to be too harsh for me. So I'm adding a little strained lemon juice and a little maple syrup and a little cayenne and it feels just right. I feel I can still participate fully in the fast but also do the things I need to do today.
It's incredibly helpful just knowing there are other people out there doing this. And the prescribed menus and shopping lists really get me out of my own head about it all.
- Addy

Note from Jinjee: This section is from one session of the 21 Day Cleanse when three or four women were particularly active sharing their blogs. I've changed their names but kept them consistent as characters so you can see a bit of their individual journeys as well as how they supported each other….(this is going backwards in time though, starting with their most recent posts)

Interesting times... I have stuck to the recipes pretty much fully (apart from an ingredient or two here or there that I had to replace). It was my husband's birthday on Wednesday and I made a conscious decision to share a couple of glasses of proseco and boy did that feel good!!! No guilt feelings at all as the decision came from a place of full awareness. However, the next day I paid for it. My entire energetic field had changed and I was 'dulled'- it was so so obvious, never felt the effects of alcohol so clearly, the way it was working through me. Anyway, all in all I have to say that so far, I feel that my spirit and mind have 'opened up' to Source in a very powerful way. The frustrating/distressing fog (that you talk about catinthetree) lifted about 4 or 5 days ago. However, my physical body does feel limp, I do not have the energy that I would like to have. I have not done much exercise other than some gentle yoga, it's like my whole system just slowed down over these last couple of weeks and I focused on being in the now with my food intake and immediate concerns. I really did not have much appetite for rigorous movement. MY EYESIGHT HAS WITHOUT QUESTION IMPROVED!!! An absolute wow for me and I look forward to the next 4 weeks with you Jingee, on the transition programme. By the way, the best meal I have had so far must be the felafels, they tasted better than 'real' thing. Blew my mind. Thank you thank you thank you x
- Anastasia

Holy moly....some real break throughs today. I hit an all time low, cried really hard about how unhappy I was and now, I feel better than I have in days! Reading the work of Byron Katie really helped. I am so glad I was introduced to this...thank you Jinjee! Its inspirational and thought provoking and I managed to read exactly the articles I needed tonight.
A couple of side notes - not sure how much weight I have lost at this point but last I checked it was 9 lbs. Also, my resting heart rate was 69 when I started this cleanse and now it is 59...! No wonder I have been experiencing such massive shifts, my body truly is changing, things are moving and shifting and altering. It makes so much sense tonight! I do miss cooked food - but I cant imagine going back to it! Today I daydreamed about french fry nachos, I even described them to my son who was looking at me like i was crazy. But then I made myself that awesome quiche dinner and thought to myself - nothing can taste as good as fresh. I was totally satisfied... and managed to eat the whole thing...!
- Lydia

I forgot to mention yesterday that I have been doing some yoga almost every day (except for the day I was feeling so sad). I'm feeling a bit sore from it, which is nice.
Today I had a couple bananas sprinkled with hemp seeds and ceylon cinnamon for breakfast, and a rather rich smoothie with pineapple and coconut and a bunch of seeds for lunch. I'm still sort of trying to figure out what my body wants.. this morning the kids got pancakes, and there was this craving/not craving going on in me. Like I knew they would taste amazing with the homemade red currant vanilla jelly I made, but I also knew that it would not affect me well, so in the end it wasn't that big of a temptation.

I bought a bunch of goodies from the shop today, so I'm wondering what I want to make for dinner. I think I will go with the tomato soup, since the lunch smoothie was so filling.
(I also need to take advantage of my mom's blender as long as we are still here... I don't have one at home in my tiny kitchen!)
- Lydia

Yesterday I ended up making myself some almond mylk in the late afternoon, and found it quite satisfying. I still didn't feel like eating much of anything, and continued to do a lot of clearing work with my friend. I did have a few pieces of fruit over the course of the evening, but mostly just drank water.
Today I also didn't feel much like eating. I had a small fruit salad in the morning, which wasn't very satisfying for some reason. During the course of the day, I noticed more feelings of hunger, but when I felt into what I actually wanted to eat, nothing sounded good.
I picked some berries in the yard and ate a few, and finally made myself a rather watered down smoothie with raspberries, a banana, some leftover fruit salad from the morning (mostly blueberry and a little black currant), and about 1/4 of an avocado. It went down nicely, and then I also had a bowl of sprouts with another 1/4 avocado, and a bit of kim chi.

Emotionally I am feeling a bit better, the sadness has lifted a bit.
Physically I am a bit sore in the sides from a detox yoga session I did the other day (lots of twisting!)
Mood is sort of calm.

- Tanya

Hardest two days I have had on this entire cleanse. It is worth mentioning that I started menstruating the day after the water fast. Then yesterday was my sisters birthday and we all went out to dinner where everyone was drinking beer, eating burgers and fries and I sat there - feeling pretty deprived and negative.
I experienced very low energy, I was lethargic and just felt run down. Also, had a really hard time thinking clearly and focusing. I have just been out of it. Social situations have been a struggle, keeping up with my son has taken all the energy I can muster. Also, for the first time on this cleanse, today I turned to cook food. My son had a burrito for lunch and I took a hefty bite - it didn't even taste that good but I kept going eating about half the burrito before i finally stopped. I know why I did it - I felt so empty! Normally, I have been enjoying this feeling, but today it felt awful - i just wanted to feel full and that burrito certainly did it, but only for a moment before my stomach started to hurt and my heart started to race and I immediately regret it. I felt low all afternoon after that until finally, I ate a handful of almonds - then I started to perk up. I still haven't sorted through all the reasons for the cravings, perhaps I really did just need more calories or maybe just to lay down and rest! Also - there must be an association between feeling empty and feeling "empty". Maybe I have a fear of being thin...? Maybe its just completely out of my comfort zone - a lot of things on this diet are!
I started reading some of the recommended readings which really have helped. I needed some perspective - there is a bigger lesson here for me. I also had a few moments today where I realized my body is trying to release something. I weighed in today at 135 - lower than I have been in over a decade. The release of these toxins and extra weight could also cause the release of emotions and deeply rooted events. I had this epiphany today as I was driving, and thinking about food. I thought that if I could just stick with it, go easy on myself.... maybe it would release and I could move through the feelings. I have learned alot about one's "shadow", appearing in the darkest times with lessons. I actually stopped today to listen, I actually realized that something was shifting, I was changing and that part felt so good.
Tomorrow is a new day.
- Lydia

This (another post from Tanya) is from an incredibly beautiful and naturally thin woman who regularly participates in the programs. I learned from her posts that part of her beauty is from her ability to really feel and accept her sadness and everything she is going through emotionally and physically. She is an artist, and I think that goes along with the artistic side of our nature once we tap into it. It seems that she sometimes has no desire to eat. I think it's good that she honors that when it happens. We've all been a little conditioned to fear loss of appetite, but maybe sometimes it can be helpful, like when we need our energy for things other than digestion…Here's what she wrote:

For all my intentions to feel so good and amazing this week.... I feel so incredibly sad. I woke up at 3am last night feeling so... I don't even know what .. not exactly numb ... just a lump in my heart space. I deactivated my FB account and fell back asleep sometime before 5, I think.
It's like I've released everything... with my period, with the water fast, with my boyfriend going off to the military youth camp... and now I am just hovering with nothing below me.

Yesterday I only had water with lime and watermelon juice all day. I thought I would wake up ravenous this morning and be excited to have some fruit or something, but instead I feel nothing, no desire to eat, just watching the fruit wilt on the counter.

I'm making myself some warm water with a inch of salt, maybe that will help.

:(

Here you can see how people support each other on the forums…

Day 11 - Water fasting Nothing on the menu for today but water - I had about 90 ounces or so. I had low energy all day. I didn't push myself to do too much - I sat down a a lot, took breaks and am going to bed early tonight. I did practice the yogi cleansing breathes and a couple others listed in the recommended reading that was part of today's exercise. I used to practice Kundalini yoga regularly which included lots of breathing exercises. It felt SO good to revisit that. Even just holding my breath for a few seconds made a big difference in the way I felt, my energy, and everything. I'm glad I tried this today.
A note about my skin ailments - one of the major reasons I decided to try this cleanse was because of horrible back acne I have had for the last year and a half. I have tried everything to cure the acne - changes in diet, skin care reginmens, changing fabrics I wear, changing laundry detergent, and I have even had blood work done to make sure there is no underlying cause. The acne is pretty severe - lots of large read bumps, blackheads and a ton of scarring even though I don't mess with them. Well, the acne is still there and this week has actually gotten worse. I'm hoping its finally cleansing out. We will see!
- Lydia

Wow, I am sure if you were to stick with this for a few more weeks, your body would get rid of the acne. I had mild rosecea on my face and without question my complexion has got better! Let us ride on! Have a super day and enjoy the watermelon slush this morning :-)
- Anastasia

(No, it's not lots of women with the same names, it is the same women posting numerous posts which I'm quoting! Very often it is a small group who are active and bond on the forums)

It is 8:30pm here and I am quite astonished at how I am buzzing and not really very hungry...it's like a satisfying emptiness kind of feeling. Water all day, nothing else. And I've been flying most of it. Kids, running errands, gardening, preparing meals, etc. I had a lie down on the sofa for an hour this afternoon, just wanted to feel the stillness and be in myself and feel my cells and listen, if that makes any sense at all?
I have done water fasts in the past, but never felt this way. I think that coming from a raw place to begin with and the gradual reduction of food over the last days has really helped to make this a success. Such good planning and 'leading up to it' Jingee, thank you. I could imagine doing a day or two more of the water fast, but not when I have stuff to do and such young kids....
Yesterday morning I awoke feeling like I hadn't in years. My mind felt crystal clear, it was like I was cleansed in every way possible and riding on air, the most amazing sensation. Normally I would wake up tired and not at my best.
So all in all, an awesome day and I feel so very grateful for all that I have in my life, including the universal guidance leading me to this programme.
Euxaristw as we say in Greek!
All the very best to everyone,
- Anastasia

Yesterday, i was going on 6 hours of sleep....I'm the type of person that needs more like 8+. So I was dragging butt. But surprisingly, I was still functioning pretty well. I had a sharp mind at work and felt very upbeat during my hour lyrical dance class. I also had enough energy to do a bit of work on the house last night - I am cobbing the outside walls of our house, and trying to get done before freezing temps set in.

So many positive changes have happened in my life since beginning this cleanse. Altough I have noticed many detox symptoms...ie skin breakouts (more than usual), period of mental fog, gas, and emotional highs and lows.... I have also noticed that I have more energy, I can think more clearly overall, and I have more patience. I also just feel lighter and better. Last time I checked I had lost 5 pounds. I am down to 137, the lowest I have been since I was just out of high school. My stomach is flat, my body is not as sore, I feel more confident. I am a fan of this diet!
- Lydia

I've been doing almost all liquids today (we were sailing so I felt like I needed a little bit more energy for hoisting and trimming sails), so I had a couple mangos and a grapefruit for breakfast and lunch and just made myself some watermelon juice for dinner. It's going to be tricky feeding the kids tonight!!

Trying to decide whether I do my water fast tomorrow or just do more juices. We have another two bay trips tomorrow, so I might need that little bit of sugar in my system... perhaps blend the rest of the enormous watermelon I bought and pack it with me? And some pickle juice? :D Electrolytes FTW!

Also-- I can't seem to get off the coffee! Last night I was so excited that I finally had my first all raw day, until I remembered that I had some coffee! Wah! :D

Oh well! I'm feeling really good & just gonna take it as it comes, because I feel like the momentum is in.

Full sail!! <3 <3

Day 9 - The greens Day
I can hardly believe it is already day 9. Today's menu was much easier for me than yesterdays - i guess I don't have a future in Fruitopia.... but greens, salads, and avocados....I'll take it! I have always loved savory and SALT.
AM: Juice of kale, cucumbers, celery, apple, and lemon.... really hard for me to get down....took me all day.
Afternoon: Green salad with avocado and lemon dressing - I used rosemary as the herb, i had some leftover and it was SO GOOD.
30 minute walk in the rain
PM: Green smoothie - kale, avocado, lemon, tomatoes, bell pepper and celery - pretty dang good!
1 hour hike
I have to admit, i am pretty nervous about the 3 days of upcoming liquid only. I could live off salads - especially if they include olive oil and avocado. But liquids only could be challenging. I am attempting to enter this with an open heart, just as I did entering day 1. Walks and fresh air really help. Also, I can't even begin to describe how good it feels to be off coffee and alcohol. I sleep better and wake up feeling much more rested.
Also, I have been making it a point to do a sauna every 3 days or so on this cleanse.  It is a common way for us to bathe anyways so I have been using it as my primary source of cleaning during this time period.  It has done wonders for alleviating the detox symptoms.
- Lydia

So, the day got away from me yesterday and I didn't have a chance to make my salads, so I'm going to have to do those today so the lettuce doesn't go bad.
On the other hand, I got a lot done around the house :)
For the most part I'm feeling really good... two nights in a row I have done a 30 minute yoga session, got in some salsa dancing the other evening, and some yummy bedroom fun even :)

I'm definitely feeling energy shifting. Partly due to the cleanse and what I'm eating, but we have also been doing a lot of family constellation work over the past few weeks and there is a lot of movement associated with that.

I also had a fight with my boyfriend on Saturday night, which is always interesting because it generally means something is growing and changing. Too long to get into here, I was SOOO mad at him, but things had already shifted by that night and today I'm feeling like I've been in this sort of deep, heavy space for a while and I'm ready to let it go.

I just started my monthly cycle so it feel like a good time for some shedding and letting go, plus he is going to be away for the better part of the next few weeks, so I'm really claiming this time and space for myself and feeling better and lighter and to really let myself get filled up with myself.

On another note, my skin is breaking out in strange places. Granted, it's that time of the month, but this is different than my usual break outs, which tells me I am most likely detoxing something.

'm feeling like I am a day behind, but at least I'm now on the watermelon train!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this watermelon juice. So simple, yet soooo good. The only thing is, it turns out that watermelon, as much as I love it, is one of the foods that came up red in my food intolerance test a couple years ago.

(I've also got a bit of a rash on my lips from the mangos I ate the other day :(

I have to run and make my salads now, turns out I have to go sailing this afternoon!

xx <3

Day 5-6 On a boat & Food Prediction results ARE IN!!
Today was the first day I felt pretty sluggish, I felt pretty tired and drained most of the day. But, i was not stressed at all - despite mountains of things to do and a crazy 3 year old running around. I also still had mental clarity and got through the day pretty well. Also, stepped on the scale and I have lost 5 pounds since the beginning of the cleanse. I have noticed that some of the meals have been too much food for me. I am considering cutting down some of the portion sizes. I usually cant finish the meals and either share them with my son or I'll just snack on them throughout the day. The fruit salad today was huge. I gave about a third of it to my son...which is working out nicely - apparently he LOVES mango.
I also completed the journal exercise - writing down emotions.I have spent a lot of time journaling but its been awhile. I enjoyed revisiting this old habit. I even took out my old journal and added this exercise to it. It can be so challenging to sort through emotions as they come up in the day. But writing them at night, helps sort through where they come from and how to deal with them.
- Lydia

Okay, so today I wasn't hungry at all. No cravings and I kept forgetting about food! Also, I had loads of energy and I was so positive. I was so cold the first two days on this diet but each day less and less.
There wasn't a journal exercise for today but i thoroughly enjoyed the happiness exercise about accepting your shadow. A couple of years ago, I read a book called Womb Wisdom where there was similar exercises about accepting and listening to the "negative" traits that come up in you at times. Sometimes they are clues into something bigger. I have never made a list of things I don't like about myself. It only took me about 5 minutes to come up with a pretty hefty list. But as soon as I wrote them, I could think of something I also loved about those traits. What a great idea!
- Lydia

Day 6 - much better - Lighter and more energy today. Swimming and in the sun almost every day with the boys, loving it. I really struggled with the cabbage/pineapple. I am generally not a fan of cabbage and there was no way I could eat the lot. Hubby did though! So feeling a little peckish now, might have a piece of fruit and some nuts. I have been short-tempered this afternoon and have this urge to retreat from all the noise and bustle with family. I feel the fog lifting though, getting there, I hope...
- Anastasia

Back from the island. I packed everything into a cooler bag with some ice bags and managed to keep everything fresh. At one point I was afraid that I didn't have enough food, but in the end it was perfect. Had a great trip :)

And..... the results for the Boyfriend Food Reaction Predictions are in!

#1 Gazpacho-- missed this one. He actually didn't like it! Surprising since he likes tomato and veg juice.
#2 Sunflower pate-- prediction was on target. He made the face I was expecting, but ate it (in the end he preferred it on the hard boiled eggs I made for him just in case)
#3 Apple pie-- on target.  He actually seemed to like this one (more than I expected).

The overall reaction was "it's a little strange, I'm not used to it. I can eat it, just not much of it at once"

The funny thing is that I could feed him all of the raw ingredients and he'd eat it all happily (I think he ate most of the berries I brought along)

So today.. kids are back from camp and I'm going to have to start cooking. I'm quite tired so it's tempting to also just dive into the buckwheat and letscho I'm making for them, but maybe I can convince myself to make the zucchini pasta instead. (Skipping the wanda slaw- I tried it once and didn't like it at all)
I did pick up a bunch of fresh fruit and veg at the farmers market this morning on the way back from picking the kids up.

Workout-wise I haven't been able (just haven't had time!) to do anything for the past few days. We did do quite a bit of walking on the island, at a leisurely pace but mostly on sand, so I am feeling the sides of my calves today. Really must get in at least a short workout today!

ETA: I did it! I made the zucchini but found the sauce too sweet with two dates :(
- Tanya

Boat trip looks fab! Well done on all the prep pre boarding!
- Anastasia

Day 5 - I had a jasmine tea for the time with my friends - they were drinking beer and I felt inspired to be a part of the drinking so I brought a tea. :)
Wow. So much of my thought patterns have changed in these 5 days. I have felt many moments of "release" of emotions or toxins. I spent the first 3 hours of my day angry at everyone except myself and my son. I should have probably stayed at home alone but I took my anger out into the world. What got me over it was chopping wood. I chopped for 30 minutes, I was pouring sweat, and all the fuel of anger was gone. Then I could go back inside and actually listen and talk to people without jumping to conclusions, taking things the wrong way, or wanting to scream about how ridiculous they were being. Whew. Thank you, wood chopping.
Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the recommended reading - positive thinking.  I added many of the exercises to my journal.  I have done alot of work with this already in the past but it always a good reminder to acknowledge faith in your life.  Thank you for this.

Day 5: journal exercise
My Favorite forms of movement
Dancing - fast slow, interpretive, with another person, latin. All of the above. I love to dance. Its expressive, freeing, sometimes planned and practiced and sometimes impulsive and interpretive. It releases emotions, it opens your heart, it connects you to so many things. It has saved me in so many ways.
Also - volleyball. You are part of a team, you are alert, ready, people are counting on you, and it is so fricking fun. Hours can pass and I don't even notice!
- Lydia

Day 5 - Hmmmmm...most difficult day so far. Unfortunately I was out with the kids and wasn't home for lunch (an absolute must for me if I am to follow the plan in its entirety) and ended up having a green leaf salad and carrot/ginger juice at a restaurant. By then I was light headed and without energy. Even after dinner, I am feeling tired and just want to sleep. My legs hurt. I can tell that some important stuff is happening now. I must drink more water...will even sip a tea when star gazing later this evening. No energy for any form of exercise, just feeling blah. Hopefully tomorrow better. Hope you guys are ok. Ciao for now.
- Anastasia

Day 3 - PM - Got invited to dinner with my mother in law - which is always impossible to turn down (despite my delicious soaking almonds) so I had a big green salad with lemon and olive oil - red onion, tomatoes and a kombucha (whoopsies)
4 minute fat burning interval training workout
Snack: freshly picked raspberries (handful), 1 date
Today I woke up feeling absolutely amazing! I had so much energy, I was upbeat all day, positive thinking - like my old self! In fact, I think I scared off some people this morning due to my loud and overly excited demeanor about life. They were heading on a 4 night trip to a remote area of Alaska to view bears with my husband as their guide and I'm sure I was more excited than they were. I talked their ears off, asked tons of questions, I was LOUD. All day i had tons of energy. I must have moved through something!

Happiness Exercise
"List of pleasures"
Laughing children, warm rain, hot saunas, freshly picked blueberries, nailing a dance!, running as fast as I can, feeling centered, feeling rested, sleep in general, rainbows following days of grey skies, fresh mountain air, complete silence, a warm kiss, cozy pajamas, bonfires with friends....

Journal Exercise;
"Why I'm committed to eating healthy"
- I feel great
- I have more energy
- I am focused, creative, and strong
- I want to LIVE my life
- I want to focus on other joys besides food
- I want new hobbies
- I want to be an example for my son
- I want to keep up with my son!

Today?  I had the opportunity to have lunch at Papa G's in Portland.  The only place I know of that serves organic foods, including a variety of raw.  I had the sunflower seed pate wrapped in a collard.  All would be Garden Diet approved.  Loved it, and I didn't have to prepare it.

I'm not moving the body as much as I'd like, but I'm being patient with myself to integrate the food part this week with my work schedule.  I've done this before.  Otherwise?  I start feeling stressed.  My spiritual practice with regular meditation and visualization is much more than I was doing the last time I was here.  I feel I'm in a much better place there.

It will come together in an organic way.  I want to enjoy this experience.  No stress.   They way I was meant to eat in the summertime.
- Patty

Patty, 2 other places in Portland that have (some) raw and organic are PRASAD & Blossoming Lotus.
- Ava

Today I have eaten all raw & I always feel so good when I do! I am experimenting with creating some of my own recipes. I have been doing this program a few times now so have found which recipes I like most & make them often. Sending good vibes out to all of you!!!
- Yvette

Our bodies are the temples of our souls. They are our constant companions and lifelong friend. Our bodies deserve our honor, love, and respect.
And yet...so often I have treated my body as a slave.
Despite years of what is tantamount to abuse and neglect, my body has been incredibly faithful to me. Not once since my heart began beating has it ever stopped trying to do the absolute best it can given the environment and parameters it's given.
My body deserves better treatment than I've given it. It deserves to be given the opportunity to be it's very best as nature intended. I am the only one who can do this for my body, no one else can. It is entirely up to me to be it's faithful steward. It's entirely up to me to listen to it, to grow to understand it's needs better, and to strive to empower.
I can not travel back in time and take back any damage I've done by ways of poor nutrition, stress, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, and more. But I can make the decision to choose each day, from henceforth, to give my body every opportunity each day to heal and thrive for the rest of my life that lies before me.
Lest one of us ever feel at some quiet, dark, uncertain hour that we are walking this path alone, never forget that you are not alone. Your body loves you and you're in this together. In their own wordless way, our bodies are cheering us on.
- Bella

Beautiful! I want to frame this and hang it on a wall.

Day 3
Hello! Thought I'd check in and say hello....The apple pie tonight was superb but could only manage half as it was very fllling. I have completed day 3 and am surprised by how I can still 'operate' with my two small children and do all the regular activities. I was so surprised not to have experienced any of the headaches that would almost always accompany stopping coffee. At one point this afternoon I had a twang of wanting some good quality chocolate (I am partly Swiss :-) This morning's orange/banana smoothie was out of this world, so simple and yet so satisfying, mmmmm. Never had that combination before. Hope you folks are well and we shall all soon be thriving in the feelings of well-being!! All the best x

Hi Jinjee,

Finally here is my feedback from the 21 day cleanse that I have just completed. I have always intended to give feedback but has taken me a bit longer to get my thoughts together!!

Also I have continued the cleansing process as my body just does not seem to want to be eating very much at all right now. I have Ďtweakedí the programme to suit what my body is wanting right now.

I believe that because of my previous bad eating habits, (and other factors I am sure!!), over many years, my digestive system had been dramatically weakened Ė hence the bloating, gas, fatigue, headaches and discomfort that I experienced during the cleansing phase.

However, I so believed in the cleanse and the Garden Diet principles that I continued on with it and still am even though the 21 days are up. During this time I have learnt a lot about my own body and itís requirements and of course am still learning.

For instance I discovered that I could not eat the full amount of food suggested for each day Ė so I reduced the amount and ate much less. I discovered that my system at this time, really went well on the green juices and for quite a few days and even still that is all I have for a day or two. My digestive system and my brain are grateful!!

I have learnt that I do better on the green juices more so than on fruit at this stage. I have osteoarthritis and through purchasing Stormís ebook regarding healing I discovered that eating/drinking vegetables that are high in sodium is recommended. I have researched which foods are high in sodium and have been using these vegetables and sea veggies in my juices and salads, etc.

Already my joint pain is diminishing Ė a long way to go Ė however, progress is amazing!! Bit by bit over the weeks my brain fogginess and feeling of flatness has diminished almost completely, my bloating is reduced, finally my energy (of which I have not had much for some time now!!), is reviving Ė can hardly believe that Ė what a gift!!

I feel a bit euphoric and keep hoping that this breakthrough with my wellbeing will stay and I wonít sabotage this good thing. I have always been one who sabotages good things in my life and from early childhood I believed a lie that said, ďgood things never last,Ē Ė and of course believing this, I made sure they didnít, (that was on a subconscious level of course until this revelation came to light). My spirit is uplifted, I feel joyful and excited about life again. Thatís a lot isnít it in just a month!!

Best wishes. With gratefulness

"S" Downsizing on Raw Foods

email from a participant in The 28 Days Raw Program

June 21.11 I was at my heaviest here at 157 pounds. UGGH! Iím 5í4Ē and just turned 63. This photo caught me by surprise. And though vegetarian in my food habits, nothing I did allowed me to lose weight for any significant length of time. I tried all kinds of different diets and strategies. I also had a tendency to injure myself if I worked out at all at the gym.

Here I am Sept 2.11 Iíve purposely kept the same clothes on for the photos to see how Iím doing. I had lost 20 pounds eating wonderful raw vegan foods. I was down to 137 and subsequently as low as 130. I felt terrific. I was hooked on rawÖMy pants were baggy! And I loved it.

At the same time I started on raw foods, July 3.11, I also started going to the gym mostly working on cardio and stretch. The winter months ahead in 2012 were somewhat challenging since I was resorting to juices and salads and shakes. But I found I was eating the same raw foods, not enough variety. I started to eat a lot more vegan cooked beans, quinoa, and veggies. I went up to 137.

Jan 29. 2013 I liked these pants and had them taken in. Iíve been a month on the Garden Diet and since Jan.2013. Iím down to 133. More muscled too. Since June 2012 Iíve been training with weights with a trainer. And I havenít been injured. Iíve come off vegan cooked foods and am back onto raw with renewed enthusiasm because I have some great menus with the support of The Garden Diet Program. Iím eating lots more fruit and the menus are incredibly simple. And delicious. Lots more variety in my meals. Iím exploring the Vital Force Diet this week, having just completed the 28 day raw transition diet for the first time. The VFD is designed for boomers like me. Iím 64 and want to be vital into my golden years. Iím planning to cycle through all 4 programs that Jinjee and Storm provide. ďI feel goodĒ a la James Brown. I still would like to lose 10 poundsÖwish me that it be easy. Many thanks to my mentors, old, new, and current.

NEW: I just had to share the story of Juliana with you!

(as posted in the 21 Day Cleanse Community)

God has truly smiled on me! When I began this journey, I was 230 lbs, depressed, anemic, and basically at the bottom. I really had no other place to turn but to God. And he gave me this program!! I weighed myself this morning - I am 213 pounds! A loss of 17 lbs!

I read stories about how people who did Gastric Bypass celebrated 2 birthdays: Their actual birthday and the day they got the surgery done. I feel like I have to celebrate December 10, 2012 - the day I committed to the Raw Food Lifestyle! I have blemishes in my skin that are fading completely away! One of the most important things that I have achieved just in these 21 days is the beautiful peace and freedom I feel. I have never been at peace when it comes to food. Food is not a crutch anymore. My mind feels clearer. Overall, I am just making choices that are feeding my spirit, and not just my flesh.

I recognize that this is the beginning of my journey. There will be falls and challenges. But this is truly a gift. This is what I cried out to God about when I was in despair about my out-of-control addiction to food. God has TRULY smiled on me! Tomorrow, I am going to get my iron checked. I stopped taking my iron pills about a week before the cleanse. I haven't been tired or groggy since I began! I know my iron levels have increased. I feel so ridiculously blessed and honored. I begin the 28 Day Raw Food Transition tomorrow! I am excited about new recipes and continual cleansing! God Bless Everyone! See you all on the next cleanse!

Love, Juliana

NEW: Hi Jinjee, ... I am loving this raw... I am managing to not get constipated this time... Enjoying the recipes and not being too hard on myself when I "cheat". My cheats have been refried bean, cooked potatoes, and the like... no junk food.. oh wait maybe a pretzel with peanut butter... i am down 14 lbs so far and I have only been doing this for two weeks... I think I would be down more but time of the month is here and I am retaining a bit of water... will keep you posted on the weight loss. It is coming together for me this time. Thank you for all you do to help people with Raw... Blessings C

marivel before and after

Marivel's Story....

My Journey to Slimville: I started this journey long before I can remember. I have constantly battled with my eating habits and weight gain since I was a teenager. I have tried every diet, many exercise plans and nothing really worked 100%. I would lose weight and then gain it back. Partly because I was never consistent with exercise and mostly because I always reverted back to my poor eating habits - fast food and homemade Mexican food.

I visited my Doctor in September 2012 and found out that I was borderline diabetic, borderline hypertensive and had insulin resistance. I knew that I was on a road to pills and I did not want to become a slave to prescription drugs. My doctor recommended diet and exercise and to return in three months for a check up. So, I decided to try to eat healthy and exercise again.

This time I tried the Garden Diet which is a 21 day cleanse followed by a 28 day transition diet. The foods are nutrient dense. The program included a support website, weekly videos and exercise videos. I have done two rounds of the program. I love it and I am losing weight every week and gaining more clarity and energy.

For exercise, I am jogging 3 miles, two times a week and participating in Cross Fit four days a week. 14 weeks later - The Results: I reached a milestone! I am 15 lbs lighter and 13.25 inches smaller since Sept. 9, 2012!

I also visited my doctor this month. I am proud to say that I am no longer borderline diabetic or hypertensive. No pills! I still show some insulin resistance though... so my nutrient dense lifestyle and exercise journey continues.

Jennifer's Review of The Garden Diet 21 Day Raw Cleanse:

I had been heading down the path to a raw diet for months, but decided to take the plunge after coming across The Garden Diet site via a "raw cleanse" search. Needless-to-say, I practically jumped at the opportunity to join the program that was starting a few days later. Of all of the programs online, what drew me to it the most were Jinjee and Storm's story. They are both incredible! Their combined knowledge and lengthy experience really put them over the top. I was certainly not disappointed with the programs at all. Any questions I had were answered promptly by Jinjee herself. I really loved that the program not only focused on the diet, but the mental side as well; which is so important for overall health. Not only did I lose weight, but I gained so much knowledge and understanding that has allowed me to reach that level of mind, body, and spiritual health I've not had before. There are so many concepts from these programs that I practice daily now! My eyes were opened to a world of organic, natural wellness!

I started the 21 day cleanse as a diabetic, taking 55 units of insulin per night, and blood sugar readings of average 14-16 ( over 200ADA) within 10 days my sugars were at 6 ( 100) and I went off my insulin. I lost 30 pounds in the first month!

Hi Jinjee,

Just want you to know that you guys are the very LEAST commercial of all the raw food "leaders."  I have been reading and getting messages from several for years, and even the local raw food meet ups are all about somebody making money on people who are trying to be healthy.  I love it that you don't peddle stuff, but empower us!

Personally, I'm very glad that you have made the programs your career, and I have been motivated by your spiritual input.

Also want you to know that I have remained raw through the 21 and 28 day programs!  I have been working with a hypnotherapist as well and have stepped up my Curves workouts and daily walks.

So far lost @ 15 pounds and several inches.

Your recipes have been the starting point for my creative work in the kitchen, and the measure of whether I'm having appropriate amounts and types of foods.  I still have to pack and eat on the road a lot, but, with a little planning makes it a lot easier to resist temptations.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing what you do and being there as a touchstone for all of us!

Lynne B

Hi Storm,

I just finished my annual physical. The doctor could not believe i was in my 40s. They said i didnt look it and all of my readings were so good. They said i am like the only 40yr old they know who doesn't need reading glasses! Also, i have been borderline anemic my whole life. This is the first time my iron levels have been good. They thought i was taking iron pills but i told them i eat a lot of greens. I attribute these amazing results to the garden diet. Thanks,

Dr. Bretta Blanton

Dear jinjee.      I think the progarm was absolutely great... As you know I was hesitant about joining,, because I firgued it was like all the rest ..... But was so easy to follow everthing was laid out very clear and the shopping list was great.. for people who didn't have time to make one out ..... and all the recipes were very simple and easy to fix and didnt have a long list of ingredients... And the raw forum had a lot of info.. and the people were very helpful.. I just can't say enough about how great this was .. and you all have been involeed in it and been very nice... I will be a permant member on here   thank you and GOD Bless, Bob

Moving into the last week [of the 21 Day Cleanse], I am about 6 or 7 lbs. lighter than I was when I started, and am at my preferred weight.... My skin has also cleared up a lot.... I feel happy and in love with life, connected.

Hi Jinjee!
When I decided to begin the 21 Day Cleanse I thought it would be just that...a 21 Day Cleanse...and then I would be finished, cleansed for the spring, and good to go.  I had no idea this diet would be so perfect for me, and what an impact it would have on my whole life in all areas.  We are on day 18 and I already know this is something that I want to continue after the program is over.  It truly has been life-changing!

Please know, I think this program is a huge gift.  I feel great & am inspired by this well organized & beautifully planned program.  In addition, my entire family is getting the run-off benefits & their own inspiration.  This program may be more far reaching than you realize and I thank you.

Rebecca before and after

I started this program (21 Days Raw) at 136 lbs. hoping to maybe lose five pounds along the way, and finished at 124. Twelve pounds! The changes in my health and well-being are almost overwhelming. My boyfriend says my facial skin is glowing and that I am looking younger, which makes me feel great. I have been sleeping so soundly, as opposed to my usual restlessness, and of course Iíve had not a single stomach cramp during all of this which is so wonderful. IBS is gone!

- Rebecca (pictured above)

What an incredible time of healing and transformation throughout this week. I am AMAZED with the powerful regeneration of my body and mind that I thought was depressed, out of whack, over-stressed, mal/under-nourished. I had been running to the supplement aisle for the miracle pill, I had been trekking to doctors for months searching for answers, I had been whining to my friends, hiding in my bed/hiding behind lies, stuffing my body with stimulants, clouding my mind with cable TV and all living under 18 inches of snow and ice.

During the water fasting day, I was prepared to challenge myself, as I knew I couldn't sustain healthy existence as I had been, so it was time to step up. Yes, I admit I was scared that I would faint from hunger so I had backup oranges in my bag, but I didn't need them, and I felt so free...Until the relationships in my life that I had built around being in a dependent state came knocking at my door and Oh the emotional floodgates opened. And are opened, but it's different -- I'm responding to them from a place a responsibility, respect, and with a love so deep I can see it, touch it, taste it, hear it, know it.

Thank you Jiniee. Blessings!!

Waited till today for some reason to have this baby [recipe from 28 Days Raw]. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I kinda thought this one would be good, but I had no idea that it was gonna make my tummy do loops and cartwheels of joy!! I didn't think the Ambrosia or celery chowder could be beat, but this little gem came outta no where and is running with the best of the pack. I put the whole bunch of collards in and used fuji apples. Joy just flooded my soul!!!!! I had to sit down and just enjoy this precious time with my new BFF (best food friend). I had the vitamix turned up to my mouth trying to get every delightful morsel. This one is definitely a keeper!! LOVED IT!!!!!!!

- Lisa Miller

Each day i felt more and more aligned with my higher, greater self. This past friday a friend exclaimed to me, "You look so fresh and youthful.  What's your secret?"

Hi Jinjee, Thanks for the on-line version. I really enjoyed being a part of your family for the duration of your "Breakthrough" film. The 21 day & 28 day Programs were my first introduction to raw and since the start I have lost 30 lbs & my husband 20. Best of all my blood pressure is 119 0ver 71 after my doctor said that I would always be on medication. He wrote a prescription & I went raw instead. He was so pleased with how well the medication that I wasn't taking was controlling my blood pressure. :)

- Thanks, J

Hi Jinjee, I just wanted to make a comment about the candida/fruit thing (http://thegardendiet.com/candida). I've had candida in the past and cured it just by eating fruit alone. People seem to be fearful of eating fruit for some reason. Well I know the reason, its that we're conditioned to think that way. To think we are fearful of the very food God intended for us to eat. I think also the healing fruit brings can be very dramatic and therefore people think they have a recurrence of the candida, whereas they are just being healed of it. So i believe its the 'healing crisis' itself that makes people scared of this. Hope this is helpful in some way.

- Regards, C

Missing all of you.... for those not on the 21day, just blogged about my hair, again, I know, I keep bringing up my hair, but it's outstanding how my hair is changed so much! (from gray to natural red color). So do you really want to know what the Garden Diet Program is?????? ..... on the blogs many people have speculated ..... The Garden Diet is the Holy Grail and the Fountain of Youth. The Holy Grail and the Fountain of Youth is really in our gardens or produce section of our local markets....

- Rebeccca

Thank you jungee for the conference call on sunday.  i learned a great deal!  thank you for speaking to naomi and the 3 free books about what to eat, it will be very helpful along with your recipes.  i wanted to let u know i had the green juice this morning it was awesome.  i had to go home and make another 1.5 hrs later.  i am content til lunch.  your program is wonderful and i notice that the jeans i wore last week are not as tight this week.. i even look forward to working out in 20 min intervals.  i find myself just stretching sometimes. or doing some are work with weight at a moments notice.  keep up the wonderful work. thanks!!!!!

Hi Jinjee!

I want to thank you early for this wonderful program! (28 DAYS RAW)

I am already enjoying more energy, better sleep, more
mental clarity and well-being, more "lightness" both
physically and emotionally, and overall more JOY!

I love your daily motivation and happiness
exercises!  I love the freedom and variety in recipes
and exercise options!  I love the guilt-free approach!

My favorite recipe from you is the oranges/banana/berry
smoothie, with greens added in sometimes!

Susan

RE the 21 Day Cleanse: I don't like dealing with stress, anger, sadness, or even happiness without food. I don't like feeling left out when people are eating the food I wish I could have. But now that it's over I look back with gratitude for the experiences I had and the trials I was able to pass. More than anything I love the changes I'm seeing in my body as well as the ease of which I am able to move now. I am lighter, stronger, cleaner, and happier. I can jump higher, exercise with much more intensity and duration. I can make a meal and not eat it! :) I have never done a cleanse that was SO filling, yet I still lost a really significant amount of weight considering how much I was eating.....

Jinjee
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for this offer to follow your 28 days transition to raw food. I most enjoyed the journey, and am very proud of my continuous 80+ days raw. My body is getting better, as I can move more easily, since my fall in January I had trouble with my right knee and hips but they seem to be liking all these exercises. It's been great to try all your recipes and to read the stories of all the community. Will miss the continuous support hope to be a part of your next venture soon to come.
marie-paule

Overall this has been a fantastic experience. I've lost at least 15 pounds. I feel greater mental clarity, I've been more resilient to stress, and have more energy. Despite some breakouts with my skin detoxing, my skin has a beautiful glow. I'm excited about this journey and plan to keep going with the summer raw programs. The best change I have seen is that I have been able to complete a two mile brisk walk without having to use my rescue inhaler for my asthma. Also, even with some dramatic swings in weather here, my allergies haven't been bothering me. These changes are enough to inspire me to keep going. I've really enjoyed the support and camaraderie of this community.

My wife and I went Raw Vegan at the beginning of this year and owe a lot of the success to you and Storm. If it was not for your web site, a couple of your ebooks she purchased and your stories I do not think my wife would have talked me into trying this lifestyle. Today I have lost over 70 lbs and more importantly have been keeping it off with ease. Most of the health issues I was dealing with have reversed their affects on my body and a couple week ago I went to get a physical and it is amazing to see where my cholesterol is and the massive change in my liver enzyme levels. My wife has dropped about 30 lbs to date.

- Kevin

The Garden Diet menu plan provided simple recipes that I could make as quickly as any SAD cooking mom could fry a pound of hamburger and open a cardboard box of dry noodles and seasoning packets. Often the meals were much quicker to make than the old "TV dinner in the microwave" routine. The ingredients were mostly very easy to find, and there were readily available substitutions for those that weren't. Simple can be very tasty and satisfying.

Raw Chef Chelly, Before and After Raw Diet

One of the ways in which The Garden Diet helped us was that it included complete menus. I didn't have to worry about whether I was providing my husband and I with enough daily nutrition. The menu plans in The Garden Diet were like "training wheels" that gave me the confidence to know that I could provide my family a healthy raw diet. Shopping lists were also provided, which saved us time.

- A family of 4 goes raw

In one of your e-mails you said something about adults not needing that much food because we're no longer growing. That thought is always in my head now and has helped me realize that I don't need 3 big meals plus snacks and desserts every day.  I'm finding out how much less food (nutritious, of course) I can live on each day and still have energy and feel good.  I can save money on food and also lose those extra pounds!  Thank you so much for that insight, and it's just one of many I have received from both you and Storm. - B

I am going strong, and have finally moved off my plateau from last week. I love the blogs, and connecting with others on this journey to wholeness, thank you for making this possible for all of us. AND I am still off my insulin...of course I am taking your advice and doing greens instead of fruits, its working...N

Jinjee, I wanted to take this opportunity to give you my personal feedback. I have followed the program (eating) almost to the T .  I feel wonderfully energetic and so proud I have accomplished this!  I needed my husband’s support which I got. I loved the daily emails.  They were ALL so helpful and jam packed with solid information.  The site was also excellent.  Everything I saw was top drawer. I could not be happier and would recommend this to anyone who wants more in terms of their health!  YES, I would do it again. We are armed with so many new delicious recipes.  Plus we know that a fast is nothing to be afraid of and that it is a gift to our bodies.
Cheers to you and THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I am doing a 30 day cleanse with my father who has diabetes and we are on day 17. He was on 25 units of insulin per day when we started and now he is down to 7 units. I thought my blog might be inspiring to some of your readers who may also be having trouble regulating their blood sugar. If my dad can do it anyone can! He loves his 'SAD' diet and he has been kicking and screaming through this entire process. He's still hanging in there and I want his story to help others.

Hi Jinjee, thanks for replying to me, I had been wondering if you had any other diabetics go through your cleanse, no worries because I took a leap and am flying now...I decided to not take my  insulin the night before the water fast, and now 1 week since I last took insulin, my blood sugars are perfect, and I have nearly lost 20 pounds. I just wanted to share this with you, and thank you for having this cleanse available, I feel like I have my life back. Cheers, Nikita.

Good morning everyone, I can hardly believe that it's day 17! I haven't been counting, just going day by day. So today is Wednesday of the third week.Yup, it's been cold here and I've been loving it!

I have been practicing a raw living foods diet on and off over 20 years.  The 21 Day cleanse with the Garden Diet was a practical approach that simplified the challenge of eating 100% raw.  The recipes were easy to create, tasted delicious and were a satisfying combination of foods.  My energy level and mental clarity was a welcomed presence.  Despite it being a cold Winter I managed to stick with the diet and lost 9 lbs and dropped a size mostly losing weight around my midsection.  If I had followed all the exercise routines I know more weight could have been shed.  This is a great program for the beginner or the seasoned raw foodist wanting a solid foundation or support to get back on track.  There is no drug or pill that has the ability to do what eating 100% living foods can for the well being of a body and life.  Thank you Jinjee and Storm for your inspiration and dedication to share this knowledge!

Hello Dear Jinjee,
I've done the 28 days transition started on July 26th, I lost 25 pounds in the first 2 months.

LJ

I'm preparing dinner for day 6 of the 21 Day Cleanse.  My experience has been so positive, my daughter wishes to do it too.  You have done such a wonderful job in combining the food, movement, and soul components!  It's a total program.

Thank you so much.  I am enjoying the 21-day cleanse and this is my first experience with eating totally raw food.  YUM ! ! ! !
Cheers ........... Deborah

I would also like to thank you for the 21-day cleanse!  I am 51 years old and was married on 10/10/10.  My husband and I wanted to lose weight before the big day and I knew your cleanse would work better than any other program.  I lost a total of 17 pounds and my gown fit perfectly, and Tom lost 16 pounds and looked wonderful in his tuxedo!  We cheated a little on our honeymoon in Aruba but now that we're back home I'd like to continue eating raw as much as possible.  We missed the beginning of your 28-day program but are ready to jump right in.  Thank you again for a wonderful program; many of my friends and family members are now interested and I'll forward them information when you begin another cleanse!

Best wishes,
Ildiko

i've been doing well; getting my workouts in and following the menu closely - not 100%, but feel good about things and look forward to the coming weeks.  what a great experience and a wonderful class.  i'm glad i found you guys.

I am really loving the 28 day program. I have found not having to think about what to eat has taken all the stress about going raw for me.
Thanks for all you have done to make going raw sooo easy for me!
Blessings

I have been holding my body in the highest regard for several years now, after 30 years of abuse with cigarettes, alcohol, and an eating disorder. The cleanse was such a gift for my body, and for my very soul. It's the first cleanse I have ever done. The healing is on many levels - physical, emotional, and spiritual.

With deep gratitude,
Anne

Hi Jinjee, OK, got the pdf files and will shop tomorrow to fill in items I don't already have. This is such a perfect time of year to do this. The fresh fruits and vegetables available are endless! I've done the last two 21 day cleanses. The 28 day transition menus are intriguing and I look forward to a whole new me!! Thanks for sharing your RAW lifestyle with all of us newbies! Hugs.

Marie-Paule

Following the 2 last 21 cleanses it's great to get on this next venture of 28 days transition. I really feel supported on this journey into raw this summer. My body feels wonderful, I am happy, doing exercises in the form of Kundalini yoga + bicycle and mountain hiking also helps to keep me motivated.
Thank you for this initiative.

So glad to be here, just finished the 21 day cleanse and loved it! I feel great! Released 9 pounds and 2.5% body fat without feeling hungry or deprived. Also, have finally been able to eat fruit again after a 10 year battle, so very grateful! I am looking forward to this 28 day program and making new friends. In my real life, I am an author, writer and most importantly mom to a beautiful 9 year old daughter and wife to an incredible man. We both work from home and love the life we have created. I went vegetarian years ago, then became vegan as dairy and meat began to make me physically ill and finally the next step is raw vegan and I feel better than I have in 2 decades. Feel free to add me as a friend and let's support one another! in gratitude, Caryn

Hi Jinjee and Storm I enjoyed the 21 day cleanse, it was a beautiful experience. I'm looking forward to the next 28 days and committing to the raw lifestyle once and for all. lol Your program has been very instrumental the simplicity of the meals, the exercise routines, and most of all the journaling (a real eye opener). Thank you and Storm for everything.....

I have followed and admired Jinjee & Storm for the past 7 years - dabbling in the raw food experience for that long, as well. This is the first time that I have made a commitment on this scale (to myself and a larger group!). I am excited about all that I will learn about the raw food life style. Every time that I have "gone raw," I have felt great...then something throws me off course, and my connection and patterns with cooked food kick right back in!!! It is clear that I cannot go it alone...at least until I have more raw knowledge and tools.

I look forward to our all working together toward our goals...and being a part of this wonderful community!

i did the 21-day cleanse earlier this year.....i was extremely successful with the 21 day cleanse - so much so that i did not do the 28 day transition program that i'd signed up for...because i already considered myself a raw foodie before the 21 days was over....i have had no cravings/temptations/desires for cooked/processed foods since even before the cleanse started....the shopping lists and recipes were just what i needed to jumpstart my new lifestyle...i had information but was unsure how to put it all together....thanks storm and jinjee for making it so simple....a friend (who is diabetic) was doing the cleanse with me, and before the three weeks were over, her blood sugars were down to normal....she considers herself cured of diabetes....patricia

The great gift in this cleanse is that my partner decided to do it with me. He's been diligent, has not had his daily coffee & sugar, has more energy AND no longer has indigestion. He thinks it's letting go of coffee w/sugar. E

It snowed so much last weekend that I used my new snowshoes for the first time. What fun! I've been preparing for this since August when I bought them, and began my daily walks - walking & picking my knees up higher and stepping wider. Preparation pays off! This is the third winter I've tried to be Raw. Three seems to be the magic number for me. This time it's working. L

Me too! I have been doing more physical stuff at work, rearranging lots of files...drawers full and boxes full, and also went to the gym last night for the first time in months and months so today I am feeling quite hungry....but I have just eaten a couple of extra bananas....and drank more water....and when I looked in the fridge and was thinking of eating my old way I just said......nah...I want to stay raw.....which is exciting as in the past I would give in. As I wrote in my blog about my lower back not hurting like when I first started my cleanse, my whole body is feeling so much better. I noticed this morning that my facial skin is looking so much more bright and rosy. I like that. I am also feeling very alive and alert. I feel energetic. My thoughts are more organized and I desire to have more order in my life. The routine has been a tremendous help in setting up more order in my life and my sons. J

I have just been feeling better and better and have realized that my issue with my digestion was cooked food. I guess it is because I had been eating more raw than cooked for quite a while and have been wanting to go raw and this opportunity was perfect for me. I have done the workout and feel stronger. I am completely enjoying this journey. I had no problems with the day. I was just very busy with things to do.

Hello everybody! I am so excited to be back. I did the last cleanse program, stayed 100% raw - still 100% raw- but didn't stay on the cleanse 100% because I was on vacation. I have released 16 pounds so far! I have about 10 to 15 to go. I am a teacher and had trouble in the past staying raw due to the hectic schedule but feel so much more in control now. Thank you Jinjee for all the inspiration in the before, during, and after the summer. E

Feel very good, happy, light, clear, healthy, smiling, laughing, and efficient, ready for new adventures - and more of this delicious food :)))) JS

Right on Jinjee! Today I saw a co-worker eating something I used to eat and I wanted it so bad. I thought to myself, why would I eat something just because someone else is eating it. I started back getting focused on my work and I allowed myself to feel the feeling and moved on.

Love the videos, thanks Jinjee.

I appreciate this attitude and agree with it. This morning I realized that most likely some of my patterning around food is connected with feelings of 'failure' on some level, set into a cycle which while 'negative' in terms of getting out of it has long term patterning. If I cannot be 'perfect' on this program ... I can see emotionally that can trigger an "I am not perfect" feeling which relates back to long ago when these patterns got set up. Then the emotions overwhelm and it is more likely I will 'quit' in order to not continue to be retriggered. If a program is so difficult from where I stand at the beginning that I have to feel I am failing the first or second day, it cannot work. Jinjee, you are so very wise in helping and supporting us to be kind and flexible with ourselves and our present limitations. I feel 'empowered' if I need to 'adjust' the program once in awhile that I am not a failure. The message is clear: You are NOT A FAILURE and it is ok to make some adjustments to succeed. This is important stuff. Thank you Jinjee for your wisdom and compassion. It is felt deeply.

This is my first experience with raw food cleansing and, surprisingly, I love all your raw recipes.
Thank you,

Dina

Hi Jinjee,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for pairing me up with an e- pal, a wonderful idea that has so many benefits. It's great to have another person to ask questions to when maybe it's not necessary to bother you with them, plus I love meeting new people in whatever form it takes. You and Storm have done such a great job with the way you have set up this whole cleanse, even though I've been having some struggles this is such a cool experience and has already added so much to my life.

Thanks again,

Robin

I just wanted to ask you not to assign me a program pal for the 28 day program as well. My schedule still does not allow me much of an opportunity for computer time. The food part of the 21 day cleanse went well for me. Unfortunately, I was not able to squeeze in many workouts. I still ended up losing about 18 pounds. Hopefully, I will be able to utilize the workout portion this time !

Thank you,
Mary

Hi Jinjee!

I want to thank you early for this wonderful program!

I am already enjoying more energy, better sleep, more
mental clarity and well-being, more "lightness" both
physically and emotionally, and overall more JOY!

I love your daily motivation and happiness
exercises!  I love the freedom and variety in recipes
and exercise options!  I love the guilt-free approach!

My favorite recipe from you is the oranges/banana/berry
smoothie, with greens added in sometimes!

"Thanks for all the time, effort, and attention to detail you created on this cleanse. It isn't often you get to talk to the person in charge and I loved doing so on the 2nd conference call. Please tell Storm thank you and your children for sharing their mom. You did a wonderful job and I look forward to reading your daily blog everyday. It gives me a boost and motivation to make changes. Thanks so much for helping me be true to myself on this cleanse".

"The best thing I have noticed about this cleanse is that if I am hungry, I do not have to eat, water is what I need first.

When I do eat, I do not eat even a fourth of what I usually eat and I am full.

I am not getting headaches..Amen...

My body is not in pain when I awake in the morning.

My clothes I just bought for mother's day are way too big (I have to take them back).

I am sleeping better, I do not need a fan blowing at me and I breathe easier while sleeping.

I think more clearer than I have in months.

Got a bike on Saturday - I enjoy riding it and have found a bike path down the street from my home, been tearing it up...hitting the meddle peddle...Fun, fun, fun...I road around the path 4 times (four miles).

I have discovered myself...I know that I am a wonderful, loving, giving person and warm person.

And the biggest thing that I discovered is that I CAN DO IT...I can continue to be raw thru all the potato chips, Pepsi, cake, cookies, coffee, chicken, hamburgers, fried rice, sausages, pancakes, milk and white chocolate, fried sea food and enjoy the food that I am eating that is simple, easy, is filling and most of all it taste great...

I have lost twenty pounds and I am loving it and myself"

"I have been 100% raw for one entire week even while my kids are with me (an amazing feat for me, especially since I made them some cooked things.) And, as happens with me when I do 100% for more than about three and a half days, the feelings come rolling in. How smart I have been to alleviate these overwhelming feelings using food, or at least chewing, anyway. But, that was a coping mechanism that had its place and time, and I now want the growth that comes from being with my feelings instead of running from them. So I am going to continue coming here and staying connected to you guys with the goal of walking through them this time"

"I was thrilled with the 21 day cleanse. I was ready for change and that paired with the cleanse buddy, the excellent recipes, this blog site, the workouts, and the happiness reminders was a total package for me. I felt like I could ask Storm and Jinjee questions and they are such humble people and so generous with their time and talents that was a big wow factor for me. What I learned and what I got out of this cleanse:
• I lost 15 pounds and my clothes fit great
• I gained confidence in eating cleaner when others around me are not
• I learned that I feel better with I eat live foods
• I learned to be in self control
• I lost my sugar cravings
• I liked being reminded that exercise and happiness are a cycle (thanks Jinjee)
• I liked the workouts (although I couldn't do them due to training I plan to start them tomorrow)
• I liked being able to ask questions to others and having a cleanse buddy (shout out to A in Israel!)
• I liked being part of a group that was trying to create change
• I learned that I could compete in athletic events being raw and be stronger than with a cooked diet
• I learned how to create simple, yummy meals to satisfy my cravings
• I felt sexier
• I felt like I was doing the right thing for my body when my neighbors are all doing those shots of HCG to lose weight. They may lose weight, but they don't look that good, where as I have rosy cheeks and they say I "radiate health."
My husband also did the cleanse and he was even more perfect than me. He lost 20 pounds and has learned that he can reach for a piece of fruit or vegetable and be delighted by the taste. He learned that ice-cream makes him hike slower and that he feels better when eating lighter. He is planning on making some life style changes although he won't be 100% raw, he is excited about what this cleanse did for him and made him realize and he is supportive of what I what to do in the future.
Thank you to all of you on this site, to "A" my cleanse buddy- I couldn't have done it without you, I have learned so much from you. Thank you to Jinjee for all the time you spent on putting this together. I look up to you and your family so much. I am going to continue down this path in joy".

"I am so thankful to your 21-day program. Mike (former pasta/pizza/ice cream-addicted husband) learned to love our kitchen appliances (blender/juicer/food processor).  We’ve been having lots of fun in the kitchen. Yes, Jinjee….YOU have found your calling! Keep up the great work!  One of the best things in your program is the exact meal plan with exact recipes and easy shopping lists.  Even though we repeated a couple of your Week 1 recipes during Week 2 (when we could not juice)….it was great to have your schedule posted in the kitchen.  (I LOVE the coconut/celery chowder! And newbie/rawbie Mike finds avocados very grounding when hungry.) Also, as an added benefit, we have made so many new friends via the local farmers’ markets. And we are making a difference (esp. during the oil crisis) by buying local produce.  These changes will be permanent….we have vowed to buy local food (w/in a 100-mile or less radius).

"I visited your website when my raw friend sent it to me.  I’m raw because it’s the first thing since I was like 13 that’s made my IBS better.  I have even a few bites of bread or cheese and I’m doubled over in cramps or can’t poop for days.  I think it’s really just helped me identify foods that make me feel good and bad and be aware of my body.  I’ve also lost 18 pounds, which is never a bad thing"

"I am a 100% raw foodist and have been for almost 4 years. I was diagnosed with cancer of the prostate and decided to allow my body to heal naturally. In the process I have improved and stabilized that condition and transformed the following:

1. Weight reduced from 83.7kg (184.1lbs) to 60.7kg (133.5lbs): a drop of 23kg (50.6lbs).
2. Blood pressure dropped from 135/85 to 110/60 (the blood pressure of a 21 year old, not a 67 year old). At one point sticking around 140/90.
3. Thyroid Function: TSH down from 27.90 to 3.12 (Healthy Range 0.40 – 4.00).
4. About 6 months into the raw food program, after initially getting worse, the diarrhoea I had been experiencing for several years stopped and normal bowl movements returned and have been sustained.
5. Also around the same time, after a very bad eczema attack on my shins, again which I had been suffering from for many years, disappeared along with the tinea between my toes and groin rash I had had since a young age. I have not re-experienced any of these skin conditions since.
6. Cholesterol has reduced from 5.3 to 3.8 (Healthy Range <5.5*).
? LDL Cholesterol (the bad stuff) down from 3.8 to 2.6 (Healthy Range <3.5).
? Coronary Risk Ratio has come down from 5.3 to 3.8 (Healthy Range <5.0).
7. Hay fever and itchy eye: This disabling condition, suffered since childhood has completely cleared.
8. I am engaged three times per week in a ‘serious group outdoor personal training program’ that includes sprinting, endurance running and weight training as well as weekly sessions of Yoga plus other gentle and not so gentle physical activity such as walking and gardening and solo running from 6 to 10 Kms non-stop on my ‘off days’. Not only has my health improved but my cardiovascular fitness and endurance has me training with, and keeping in touch with, people 20, 30 to 40 years my junior. I feel blessed with how fit and well I feel.

As you can imagine I am hooked 100% for life…"

"I am drawn/attracted to you and your family on a spiritual level. Your ebooks inspire me completely. I firmly believe in the laws of the universe as well as the law of attraction. I have asked the Universe/God to make available to me the knowledge of how I should treat my mind and body for health and longevity. In response, raw food teachers, websites, flyers, books, etc kept crossing my path. I am a lover of knowledge so I absorbed everything even though I had yet to put it into practice. I was fascinated. Interestingly, your website was the first raw food knowledge I obtained. Then I moved on to others: Fred Bisci, David Wolfe, Paul Nison, Truth Calkins, Natalia Rose, Matt Monarch, Angela Stokes, Victoria Boutenko, then back to Jinjee and Storm Talifero and the fabulous five (your kids ;). Well, here's the unexplainable part: out of all my readings/research, you and Storm are the only raw food teachers that I connected with, I understood you on a spiritual level, especially Storms experiences (he needs to write more!)

Unfortunately, the world of raw food has become as confusing and littered with "excess paraphenalia" as the S.A.D. world. I recently went to a raw food longevity conference and I was dismayed to see so may bottles, tubes, creams, concoctions, technologies....as the way to a long healthy life.

I love your teachings mainly because you stay true to the laws of the universe and you stand firm in your beliefs despite what the "mainstream" raw foodists are doing. You attract me because you are all about what I call "loving simplicity": Give and it will be given back to you. Give the best foods to your body and it will reward you with health. Work in harmony with the earth and it will reward you with it's abundance. Simple".

Hi Jinjee- Just wanted to send a quick note about the cleanse. Well, I made it through, 95% on track. Overall I thought it was great and was amazed how I felt and also with the quality of many of the recipes. For me it was really about getting a feeling of what being raw for that amount of time would feel like and how my body would react - which was good. My wife found out by day 3 that it was too hard on her system, she was really affected by the acid from the lemons the first couple days. But she tried many of the recipes throughout and enjoyed many of them as well. For me, just realizing that eating less and not starving was good. Getting my daily intake to a manageable level is one goal, and to be doing that in a predominantly raw way is another. The hard things are really making and taking the time to devote to the cleanse. I picked this time of year because I'm relatively not too busy, but I still had a short business trip and some travel that makes it hard, as well as everyday life with the kids and all. So I can see how being at a retreat to do your cleanse and being sequestered from life can heighten the awareness and effects. But overall I'm very happy to have participated and will work to incorporate many of these recipes into my life. One other thing was it got me to invest in a serious juicer because that was one of my favorite key things I realized - I love to do the juices. Oh, and forgot to say that I dropped 10 pounds. =) Thanks Jon

Hi Jinjee, This is just a note to let you know you know how much I appreciated the program! I was not in need of losing weight. I just wanted to be healthy. My goal was to see if I could become a raw vegan. I downloaded and read all of your program. I see how important regular exercise is to being healthy and to staying on the raw vegan program. I did add some exercise to my program but I still need to improve in that area. I found the recipes too much for my schedule, so I simplified them and followed your general outline. I was able to stay raw for 21 days ( I had 5 moments in which I nibbled non raw items, but I don't think that was so bad for my first try!) I travel in my work and am in a different city every day. I drive 1 hr to work, work 12 hours, am not allowed to leave the work area for lunch, have to eat while working and am under constant pressure from the public all day, then drive 1 hr home. I wondered how I could ever become a raw vegan. The story by the policeman in your 28 day program, convinced me otherwise. I am so proud to have accomplished 3 weeks. The last week I went on vacation, I kept the vegan diet for 4 days, but fell off the last 6 days because of time and availability of proper food. The journals were great, it helped me to notice when and what I ate, and my feelings during all of this experiment. I experimented with not eating after 6pm. It made a vast difference! I slept better and felt better. The exercises you suggested were good but my computer goes dim during the activity, so I switched to doing exercises with DVD's I had at home so that I could see them better. I knew that for me with my schedule, having a positive attitude was key to my success. I have some gratitude books and some motivational books at home, but it meant so much to me to receive your motivational phrases and the happiness exercises! I looked forward to seeing what you had to say each day. I especially liked the ideas for keeping a journal of diet, exercise and of feelings. It was very helpful. Also the idea taking time for a quiet time of reflection and writing about our spiritual experience. I had some very touching moments. Because of my work schedule, it is difficult to make time for contact with other raw vegans or wannabe raw vegans like myself. I really appreciated the support. I am inspired to make more of an effort locally now. I would like to keep in touch to see what you might offer in the future. Thank you so much. You are providing a much needed service to those of us who believe in the raw organic lifestyle. Sincerely, Mary Lee

i just wanted to say thank you so much for the e-books! i was so excited that i sarted reading them at work and when i arrived home the first recipe i made was the lemon treat! was awesome. if i had recipes years ago i would have started my way of eating! i believe thats why so many of us continue to cook food is because this is all we know. also thank you for taking the time to return my telephone call yesterday. as soon as i find a distributer for the organic oranges i will start the oj fast/diet! thank you and storm for sharing your experiences and knowledge. your children are beautiful.

Thank you Jinjee, you are such a gentle and encouraging soul.

Aloha!! THANK YOU JINJEE!! Your candida insight of raw vs. cooked + raw is VERY interesting!! thank you!

I showed my hubby the pictures of Storm, he could not believe that Storm is over 60! I am hoping that one day he will try raw for a week. You inspired me to go 100% raw. we are similar in height and our starting weight was almost the same. Your story of meeting Storm, and your transformation really triggered something in me. Thank you, I am 100 times better! I only wish I had learned of raw much earlier.

Aloha!!  The 21 Day Cleanse & it's plethora of information is amazing for weight loss...I've lost 165 lbs and kept it off for over 10 years; and raw is definitely a DELICIOUS factor in my maintenance
- L

I have lost almost 50 pounds. I went from a tight size 14 jeans to a size, well I thought they were 6's I bought them off the rack of 6's, but yesterday saw the tag, they were a size 4! Holy smokes! I have been maintaining for over a year. The raw lifestyle has been the easiest, most delicious change I have ever made for my health. Jinjee's recipies are awesome and I love that there is no dehydrated foods....wetter is better!!
- R

I was vegetarian when I weighed a lot...it was the cheese, pasta, butter + processed carbs that packed it on.
I've been "high raw (not 100%)" "beegan" (vegan w/bee products) the entire time. I can't do a lot of nuts or fruit, so I eat steamed veggies, potatoes. Any oil I take in is raw. Any dessert recipe ever for me is raw. I still love hot veggie soup & steamed artichokes :). Slow and steady wins the race!! :)

I'm with you. I don't care how long it takes. I just want to learn the tools, incorporate them permanently in my life and see consistent changes and weight loss. Slow and study always wins the race!

Three years ago I did a juice feast where I drank 4 liters of juice per day for 30 days. I went from 150 to 120lbs. Then I went for my medical check up and my doctor went over the basket telling me I was to skinny and it didn't make any sense to do this... She shook me up a bit and I sort of let go of the 100% raw diet to a 80% raw with occasional cooked meal that I prepare for my husband. Since May 2010, I have done 2 cleanses and I have been raw 100%. I may have lost 2lbs but went form a size 12 to a 10 (Canadian size, US is 6). I have much more stamina and feel more positive. I don't think I need to loose much weight because my body seems to be happy at 135lbs. The main reason I do this is to shrink an ovarian cyst that has been growing in the last 2 years.
Best of luck to us all.
- M

Slow and steady is the best way to lose weight, and I agree that Jinjee's recipes are great. I don't own a dehydrater, so the lack of dry foods is a great help in the kitchen.
- R

Awesome and an awesome reason to be here with Jingee! Juice is the word!! SOULFOOD.....to me once you realize that thin doesn't necessarily = happy...that's the first part...so you still have to feed the soul...and all else is part of the amazing journey with amazing friends!!

I'm not bulemic looking...you can see me on my website...very important for me to be and feel STRONG so i'm not into that "my daughter's jeans or i want to exist on a latte" mentality :)

- M

Aloha wow this is a great line "it will take more than one day to release it"...I'm so thankful that Jingee invited the almuns back...it took me til this second time to really talk to anyone in the forum!! The support and love of others has helped me immensely in my journey!!

The raw vegan diet is an amazing catalyst for healthy weight loss and having a fit strong body. I have lost over 40lbs on the vegan/raw vegan diet. I am looking forwards to hearing about other's health stories!

I have released 25 or so pounds since April going raw. I started the first cleanse with Jinjee in July and that really helped. Now I am doing this one. Hopefully to release more toxins and weight maybe 20 pounds to go....

I've lost 7 pounds already and am feeling great.....I love the fruit, juices, almond mylk (I added a frozen banana to make a banana shake).....woo hooooooo
- P

I also would like to lose weight. I lost 10 pounds this week and am so excited and motivated. It's hard the first couple of days....but you have to do this for YOU. I found that I had to make an inner decision to stick with it.....and I kept lots of water nearby. I can't begin to tell you how easy it has gotten and how motivated I am after feeling so great and seeing results. Just make a commitment to a couple of days, then once you see shifts, you will want to keep going. One day at a time. You CAN do this. I'm happy to be a support if it helps.
- J

Cynthia, the things that are helping me succeed with my weight loss are being accountable to all of you, writing about it and my feelings each day, and sticking with the program. Or as close as I can. Yes there are times that I have strayed and like you I have gotten back on track again. That's what is called "Life". I'm finding it's okay to do that.
- T

I am a nighttime eater too. I usually get my second wind for night-owl-dom around 9 pm. But ever since getting on this program I have stopped eating after 8 pm. If I get a craving now, I will first take a sip of water with some lemon juice in it. I'm sipping on water with lime juice right now and it's past 11. Then I will sit with the "feeling" for a bit and allow myself to actually FEEL it and experience it. Journal it even. I never did that before. I used to run to the cupboard to stuff those emotions. Then mentally beat myself up for overeating and getting fatter, which resulted in me eating more. Grrrr.

So what is a craving? It's chemicals in our brain released to our body that are triggering some memory and/or emotion. For me the nighttime issues are usually centered around loneliness. If the craving/feeling becomes overwhelming and does not stop with water and writing about it, then I will have a small piece of fruit (a couple of raspberries, some apple or orange slices) and some more water. If I snarf the package of raspberries and the entire apple, it's no big deal. Thanks to this program I am learning some new ways of coping and managing my food/feeling outbursts.

My hope/goal here is to release at least 120 pounds. And I can finally see/feel the weight coming off - not only on the scale but in the mirror. And that INSPIRES me to continue. To see what else I can do. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Even if it's just for one or two floors. Walk 10 minutes out and return, that's 20 minutes. I am finding that small steps result in huge changes.

You can do this too. You ARE doing this. Conquering each day as you go. Each day better than the previous one. I have faith in you. We all do. We are here for you. We can do this together. Hugs to you,
- C

I lost around fifty pounds and went from being a couch potatoe to a moré energetic individual. I love your garden diet. For thirty years i had tried several diets without succeeding. I tried Jenny Craig, Weight watchers, nutrí systems, atkins, south beach. Shots. Pills. anything that came in the market and never was able to keep it off until one day by accident i found your website signed up for the 21 day cleanse followed by the 28 day program and here i am two and a half years later.

Thank you so much to both you and your husband.

"Thanks for all the time, effort, and attention to detail you created on this program. It isn't often you get to talk to the person in charge and I loved doing so on the 2nd conference call. Please tell Storm thank you and your children for sharing their mom. You did a wonderful job and I look forward to reading your daily blog. It gives me a boost and motivation to make changes. Thanks so much for helping me be true to myself on this program".

So I am going to continue coming here and staying connected to you guys with the goal of walking through them this time"

before and after the garden diet

"I visited your website when my raw friend sent it to me.  I’m raw because it’s the first thing since I was like… 13 that’s made my IBS better.  If I have even a few bites of bread or cheese I’m doubled over in cramps or can’t poop for days.  I think it’s really just helped me identify foods that make me feel good and bad and be aware of my body.  I’ve also lost 18 pounds, which is never a bad thing"
- T
